Sentrinsic Names Dr. Steve Dickerson to Board of Advisors

Sentrinsic, the innovative provider of integrated position feedback sensors for high performance electromechanical and fluid power products, names Dr. Steve Dickerson, the founder and Chief Technology Officer of Dickerson Vision Technologies (DVT) and CAMotion, to its Board of Advisors.

"We are very excited to add Steve to our Board of Advisors," said Haihong Zhu, Sentrinsic's CTO. "The value he adds to our company is tremendous, and we will continue to tap into his expertise to help us deliver higher performance, fully integrated, and cost-effective position sensing to our customers."

Dr. Dickerson is an award winning innovator of machine vision systems, which he researched and executed from his work as one of the original faculty members of the Material Handling Research Center at Georgia Tech. As the founder of DVT, he was the first in his field to offer a “smart camera” - a camera with an embedded microprocessor. In 2005, DVT was sold to Cognex for over $100 million, and today, Dickerson's technology continues to be a leading force in the field of machine vision.

Not only has Dr. Dickerson worked in the field of machine vision systems, but also on combined passive damping and active control of lightweight manipulators, propulsion and guidance of automated guided vehicles, and sensors to provide inertial, odometry, vision, and range information for the control of motion. He has worked with a multitude of high tech start-ups at Georgia Tech, and he is also a Professor Emeritus of Mechanical Engineering at Georgia Tech.
